SET HELP NEEDED
If you are available this and next Saturday at 2 p.m. on Saturday, please join us in starting construction on our set! Any and all help is needed, and there will be more opportunities in the following weeks as well.
FREE HERSHEY AREA PLAYHOUSE EVENT
All Palmyra Students & Families are invited to see a preview of “Spotlight on Bernadette Bratina” on Thurs., Feb. 5 at 6:15 p.m. This is a rehearsal of the sold-out show at the playhouse. BB is an accomplished performer and a graduate of Penn State’s vocal performance program. PLEASE join if you can. This is an incredible opportunity for our students, and each attendee will receive ONE THESPIAN POINT.
PALMYRA THEATRE LASER TAG
As a mid-season celebration, we are having a laser tag night at Laser Landing on Saturday February 7th from 4pm - 8pm.. The cost will be $15 per student which includes 4 hours of laser tag, pizza, and drinks. All cast crew and pit members are invited!

Signed contracts and T-Shirt fees are due on Saturday, January 31st, which is crew’s first rehearsal!
FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE PLAY CONTEST 2026
The 2026 Freshman/Sophomore Play Contest, held Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m., is a low-stress, well-organized evening of student theatre that pairs junior and senior directors with freshman and sophomore actors in a friendly, public competition.
Up to six directing teams will present short plays (5–10 minutes) focused on strong acting, clear characterization, and thoughtful directing rather than elaborate sets or costumes.
A panel of theatrical experts will adjudicate performances, with awards recognizing acting excellence, directing, and a special Crowd Favorite chosen by the audience.
COSTUMING NOTES
As we are getting further into the rehearsal process, we are starting on costuming. Cast will need to provide the following items as soon as possible. If you have any difficultly getting these items, please let us know and we can be of assistance.
ALL CAST MEMEBERS:
A clear plastic bin that will hold your costumes and accessories. Please bring this in with your name labeled clearly on the top and sides for easy organization. See THIS LINK for an example.
FEMALE PRESENTING CAST:
Nude character heels. See THIS LINK for an example. These do not need to be this exact pair, but if you do not already have a pair, these are a good option.
Nude unitards and dance tights for under costumes. These are available through Mrs. Petrou. You can bring cash or check (made out to Tap N’ Arts) to her at practices, and she will get these items to you. See the size charts below. Unitards will be $22 and tights will be $10.
